How I Discovered Preservan

I was on a certain YouTube channel that breaks down interesting businesses, most of which turn out to have franchise programs. This episode was particularly interesting to me because I thought anyone could easily see the value proposition upon a short presentation.

 

A Problem Worth Solving

Wooden door and window frames deteriorate over time, and need to be replaced. Beyond homeowners who want to get rid of any signs of dilapidation on the homes in which they live, homeowners trying to sell their homes themselves or through realtors and fix-and-flippers all need to have their homes in prime condition to command the best price possible out of those homes.

 

The Numbers: Restoration vs. Replacement

Now, when you compare the cost of traditional replacement of windows and doors in a 2-bed 2-bath home (10 windows and 2 doors assumed) with restoration by hiring Preservan, on the lower end, traditional replacement costs will fall between $7,600 and $17,000. If high-end wood is used, the range is $25,000 to $30,000. Hiring Preservan on the other hand, will cost between $3,400 and $6,700. The interesting thing is that the restoration, when completed, is strong and looks beautiful.

 

The Market Opportunity

More interestingly, we can see that there is an entire nation-wide market for this The wooden windows and doors replacement market in America is estimated at $7.2 billion! The windows and doors restoration/repair services market, is estimated slightly higer at $7.7 billion!

 

Where Preservan Stands Today

When I look at the territories Preservan alraeady has representation in, I discover it's only in 11 states! You can take a look at their territory map here: https://gopreservan.com/available-territories/. Less than a year ago, there were even fewer touched states.

 

Two Opportunity Plays

So there are at least two opportunity plays I see here:

  1. Grab the Preservan Franchise for your area, and grow the number of locations you have with them over time, given that it is permitted within their system. 

  2. Make your own company just like them. Come up with your own epoxy wood restoration method and company, establish your system, and suddenly, every state within the United States becomes fair game for you - without the slightest consideration for territory availability with Preservan! 

 

With option 2, you can actually create your own franchise, and build to have nationwide representation. To grow faster, give your frianchise marketers a small share of revenue for 5 years from new franchises opened on account of them, and watch them not only work harder, but be particular about recruiting only solid potential partners, as the quality of their extended earnings over the next 5 years bears a direct correlation with the quality of performance of the partners they bring in.
